I’m at the Imagine Cup 2011 UK Final (@Microsoft)

After a very early start this morning, I am at the Microsoft UK HQ in Reading for the UK Final of the 2011 Imagine Cup. This post will be updated with images and videos throughout the day:

10:00 – Welcoming Presentation from Ben Nunney (@bennuk)…..usual interesting, funny and geek-ful slidedeck from Ben! He also showed a very entertaining (and tongue and cheek!) video of what Web Developers think of IE6:

11:41 – Goodie Bags! Microsoft LifeCam Show webcam and a UBelly T-Shirt. @BlakePender did an unboxing:

13:03 - LUNCH!

14:40 – While the teams are giving the presentations to the judges, we are just all hanging around playing on the Kinect, Surface and Portal 2 and tweeting the afternoon away….follow the #ukic11 hashtag to join in!

15:36 – ….and we’re still eating, tweeting and playing! Sessions start at 4pm….met lots of my future colleagues.

Christmas Joy!

I hope you all had a great Christmas, and that Santa was kind! I didn’t have a very techy Christmas this year, more of a practical one.

As I am starting my internship year next Summer, I got lots of Shirts, Ties, Cufflinks etc as well as a coat that I have had my eye on for a while.

I did get some tech. My old 8GB memory stick is on its last legs, so got a new 16GB Kingston one from my brother, and a set of in-ear headphone from my other brother, a marked improvement from my iPod ones!

I have been busy editing my videos from the #ukmspmeetup, and it will be online shortly. Also under Olivier:Digital, my webdesign business, I have just launched my latest job, 10SecondReviews.co.uk. This is a film reviews site for a guy I met that works for the BBC as a reporter and film reviewer. There is still work to be done on it, but I pushed it out with a few features still to come!

Hope you all have a great New Year!
